01 — OUR BEGINNINGS

The Beginning of MTW Watches

Founded in 2023 by Max Wheeler, aged just 17, alongside his father, Tim Wheeler, MTW Watches was established with a clear vision: to bring a higher standard of professionalism, transparency and personal service to the luxury watch industry.

From the outset, we recognised an opportunity to do things differently. While the luxury watch market is built around some of the world’s most prestigious and desirable timepieces, we felt that the level of customer service offered by many dealers often failed to reflect the significance of the transactions involved.

For us, purchasing or selling a luxury watch should be an enjoyable, straightforward and reassuring experience. Whether a client is acquiring their first luxury timepiece, adding to an established collection or looking to sell a watch, they deserve the same level of attention, respect and professionalism.

That belief became the foundation of MTW Watches.

Our ambition was never simply to buy and sell watches. It was to build a business where clients could feel genuinely confident in the people they were dealing with, knowing that honesty, clear communication and their best interests would remain central to every interaction.

What makes MTW Watches distinctive is the combination of experience, expertise and perspectives brought together by its two founders.

Tim Wheeler brings a wealth of commercial experience, having built his career founding, developing and ultimately selling multiple recruitment businesses. Through years of entrepreneurship, Tim developed a strong understanding of what it takes to build successful businesses, establish lasting professional relationships and earn the confidence of clients.

His experience has helped shape the principles on which MTW Watches operates: integrity, accountability, professionalism and the belief that a company’s reputation is built through the way it treats people.

CO-FOUNDER · WATCH MARKET EXPERTISE

Max Wheeler, meanwhile, brings a deep passion for luxury watches and extensive knowledge of the market. Having developed a keen understanding of sought-after models, market trends and the intricacies of buying and selling luxury timepieces, Max provides the specialist expertise at the heart of MTW’s day-to-day operations.

Together, their complementary strengths form the foundation of the business: Tim’s established commercial experience and Max’s specialist market knowledge, united by a shared commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience.
